Job summary

is seeking a Network Administrator to support the operation, deployment, configuration, and modernization of the GFT lab environment under the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation. The role covers maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure, supporting virtualization and storage platforms, and ensuring cybersecurity requirements are met across Cisco networks, Windows servers, VMware, MDT, and lab infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on network engineer experience in implementation, troubleshooting, and design
  • Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF)
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of DoD network compliance frameworks and STIGs across enterprise devices
  • Willingness to travel CONUS/OCONUS as required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network incidents, outages, and performance issues
  • Support design, implementation, optimization, and sustainment of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center networks
  • Develop network architecture standards, technical documentation, and operational best practices
  • Evaluate networking technologies and tools to improve performance and security
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and maintain high availability
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, configuration docs, SOPs, and records
  • Support cybersecurity compliance requirements including STIGs and CTOs
  • Support MDT operations including OS images, task sequences, drivers, and deployment packages
  • Travel to GFT training locations to support deployments and sustainment
  • Perform onsite installation and configuration of network devices, servers, workstations, storage
  • Participate in pre/post-deployment activities for mission readiness
  • Coordinate with engineering, stakeholders, and site personnel during fielding and upgrades
