Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Critical Environment Engineer to support engineering activities around electrical and mechanical systems in a 24x7 data center environment. The role requires planning, coordination with teams, and a strong engineering orientation for reliable operation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of engineering experience in a technical or critical environment and HVAC or critical power certifications. Willingness to travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or professional equivalent.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a technical or critical environment (data center, nuclear power, hospital, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial/commercial field).
• HVAC or critical power certification or equivalent professional experience. Travel up to 50% to other data center locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to all aspects of data center operations, including operation, maintenance and repair of mission critical equipment to achieve 100% uptime and compliance with SLAs.
• Assist in site construction, installations, and testing to ensure designs meet standards; witness commissioning and validate documentation.
• Coordinate customer move-ins/turn-ups and power circuit installations with stakeholders.
