Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for an Electrical Engineering Intern (Mission Critical/Data Center) for Summer 2027 in Herndon, VA. This internship is part of the Summer Internship Program aimed at students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees to gain hands-on experience and mentorship with senior staff.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering degree program (Undergrad, Master’s or PhD) with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and desire to develop skills for WSP projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and related tools.
• Committed to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
• Willingness and ability to travel to local project sites.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic electrical engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Assist in preparing final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies while using company resources.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
