Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Cloud Architect to own and evolve cloud solutions that ensure mission continuity for DoW in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on designing scalable, secure architectures and collaborating with software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to deliver robust cloud platforms.

Requires 5–10+ years in cloud architecture, DoD context, and a Secret clearance with potential TS/SCI in the future.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of cloud architecture experience in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing virtual networks, compute resources, and cloud-based storage solutions.
• Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and event-driven computing models.
• Strong knowledge of network security, IAM, and compliance (FedRAMP, NIST).
• IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Excellent collaboration with software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers.

Responsibilities

• Designs and defines Cloud Solutions architecture for new or existing cloud systems/services.
• Provide business strategy, solution development and technical guidance aligned with provider offerings.
• Collaborate to develop innovative cloud-based solutions addressing performance, scalability, and security.
