Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Mission Assurance Director to lead safety, quality, and mission assurance for the Human Landing System program. You will oversee independent assurance across design, qualification, integration, test, launch, and crewed operations, reporting to the VP of Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 15+ years in mission assurance, quality, reliability, or product integrity for complex hardware.
• Experience with human rating requirements and launch vehicle certification.
• Strong communication with senior executives and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the mission assurance authority for the Human Landing System program across the lifecycle.
• Define, implement, and monitor the HLS mission assurance program and processes.
• Coordinate SQMA efforts across safety, reliability, and quality engineers.
• Provide inputs to planning to address safety objectives at development gates.
• Coordinate risk thresholds and disposition of safety-related risks.
• Represent Mission Assurance at reviews and boards.
• Ensure analyses are thorough and mitigations are verified and closed.
