Muon Space, Inc. is offering a summer internship in the Mission Architecture team, based on-site in Woodbridge, VA.

Interns will design and validate constellation architectures, conduct trade studies, and author technical responses to RFIs and RFPs while gaining direct mentorship in a fast-growing space startup. You will contribute to constellation modeling, tool development, and mission planning, with opportunities to present findings to customers and participate in in-person meetings Abroad.

Job description

About the role

Summer internships will range between the months of May and September depending on university schedules. Internship is full-time and on-site in Woodbridge, VA.


The Mission Architecture team designs and validates constellation architectures that meet customer needs, and carries them through proposal to contract award using Muon's technical roadmap and building blocks. The team’s primary responsibilities include constellation modeling, trade studies, authoring technical responses, and shaping internal and external requirements. Responsibilities


  • Take ownership of or contribute to the constellation solutions or simulation tool development.

Nice-to-have Skills


  • Previous internship or co-op experience

  • Previous experience on technical project teams (i.e. Rocket club, formula SAE, solar car, etc.)

  • Experience with proposal writing or working with customers

  • Experience supporting science teams to develop missions

  • Spacecraft and/or constellation design, build or operations experience


Pay range

Bachelor's $40/hour


Master's $45/hour


PhD $50/hour
