Job summary

K2 Space Corporation is seeking a Mission Engineer in National Security Programs to serve as the primary technical interface between K2 Space, customers, and partners as we shape mission architectures and host advanced payloads on our satellite bus platform.

You will collaborate with Program Managers and engineering teams to define missions across mechanical, software, power, and avionics disciplines, ensuring alignment with our technology. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in aerospace/space industry.
• Direct experience with spacecraft or space systems.
• Understanding of spacecraft subsystems and architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define, mature, and negotiate mission concepts and studies.
• Create and maintain technical docs for system architecture and payload interfaces.
• Lead early customer engagement and technical discussions.
• Coordinate cross-functional studies with vehicle, avionics, software, propulsion, thermal and AI&T teams.
