Job summary

Tharros, an advisory firm, seeks experienced Mission Analysts to support the Air Force MACS program. You will perform mission analysis, critical infrastructure assessment, and data platform management to strengthen mission resilience and readiness.

You will develop mission maps, collaborate with government stakeholders, and produce executive reports and dashboards for senior leadership. DoD experience and TS/SCI clearance are required; travel to installations may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Experience in mission/operational or critical infrastructure analysis in a DoD environment.
  • Experience documenting relationships among missions, assets, infrastructure, systems, organizations, and dependencies.
  • Experience supporting assessment teams and data collection.
  • Experience managing and analyzing data in government systems.
  • Experience developing analytical products for senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to Air Force installations and government locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support mission decomposition to identify essential functions, tasks, capabilities, and dependencies.
  • Analyze how missions rely on systems, infrastructure, personnel, facilities, supply chains, and external partners.
  • Identify mission-critical assets and single points of failure.
  • Develop mission maps and data visualizations for Mission Assurance planning.
  • Collaborate with commands and mission owners to validate requirements and dependencies.
  • Conduct criticality analysis using structured methodologies.
  • Support Mission Assurance data maintenance per DoDI guidance.
  • Participate in MAAT activities, site surveys, and data collection.
  • Analyze results to identify vulnerabilities and enterprise trends across Air Force organizations.
  • Apply analytics, AI/ML, or quantitative methods to improve assessments and insights.
  • Prepare executive reports and dashboards for senior leadership.
  • Integrate data into Mission Assurance platforms for enterprise analysis.
  • Support risk management and COA development.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to improve processes and governance.
  • Serve as analytical resource for mission assurance strategy.

Description

Tharros is actively pursuing an opportunity to support the Air Force Mission Assurance Construct Support (MACS) program, providing mission analysis, base assessment support, and data platform management services that strengthen the Air Force's Mission Assurance Construct.

Tharros is seeking experienced Mission Analysts to perform mission analysis, critical infrastructure analysis, and ongoing identification, validation, revalidation, and continuous improvement activities in direct support of AF/A33B.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support mission decomposition to identify mission-essential functions, tasks, capabilities, and operational dependencies.
  • Analyze how missions rely on systems, infrastructure, personnel, facilities, supply chains, and external partners to ensure mission success.
  • Identify mission-critical assets, systems, and infrastructure, including single points of failure and operational risks.
  • Develop mission maps, dependency models, and data visualizations that support Air Force Mission Assurance planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Combatant Commands, MAJCOMs, installations, and mission owners to validate mission requirements, dependencies, and critical capabilities.
  • Conduct criticality analysis to determine the importance of mission assets, systems, and capabilities using structured analytical methodologies.
  • Support recurring validation and maintenance of Mission Assurance data in accordance with DoDI 3020.45 and Air Force guidance.
  • Participate in Mission Assurance Assessment Team (MAAT) activities, including pre-site surveys, stakeholder interviews, site visits, and structured data collection.
  • Analyze assessment results to identify vulnerabilities, operational dependencies, enterprise trends, and mission risk across Air Force organizations.
  • Apply data analytics, systems engineering, AI/ML, or quantitative methods to improve Mission Assurance assessments and identify actionable insights.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, briefings, dashboards, and decision-support products for senior Air Force leadership.
  • Integrate mission, assessment, and risk data into Government-approved Mission Assurance platforms to support enterprise-wide analysis.
  • Support enterprise Mission Assurance risk management, including risk prioritization, mitigation planning, and development of courses of action (COAs).
  • Coordinate with Government stakeholders to improve Mission Assurance processes, data quality, governance, and cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Serve as a trusted analytical resource supporting Air Force Mission Assurance strategy, mission resilience, and operational readiness.
Requirements
  • Active Top Secret/SCI
  • 3+ years of work experience in a related field.
  • Ability to perform all functional duties independently without direct supervision.
  • Experience performing mission analysis, operational analysis, critical infrastructure analysis, or comparable analytical activities in a Department of Defense environment.
  • Experience identifying and documenting relationships among missions, assets, infrastructure, systems, organizations, and external dependencies.
  • Experience supporting or augmenting assessment teams, site surveys, data collection activities, or operational reviews.
  • Experience managing, structuring, or analyzing data in Government systems or authoritative repositories.
  • Experience developing analytical products, briefings, or decision-support materials for senior military or civilian leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare technically accurate reports and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to Air Force installations and other Government locations in support of Pre-Site Surveys, assessment planning, and stakeholder coordination.
