Job Description
Overview

BlueWater is seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Missile Warning Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in support of critical Next Generation Missile Warning program. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Space Operations or Systems Engineering, specifically related Space Systems Command Missile Warning mission. This role will involve providing expert guidance and support in the development, integration, and operation of missile warning systems to include but not limited to Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) and the modern and open architecture-based Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE),


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on missile warning systems, providing technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for the design, integration, and testing of space-based missile warning systems.
  • Analyze and assess the performance of missile warning systems, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Support the development of system requirements, ensuring alignment with Space Command and DoD standards and mission objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to missile warning operations and systems.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and team members on missile warning technologies and best practices.
  • Stay current with advancements in missile warning technologies, space operations, and systems engineering methodologies.
  • Participate in technical reviews, working groups, and other forums to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, system specifications, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Space Operations or Systems Engineering for space or ground system software and hardware programs, with a focus on missile warning systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Space Systems Command Space-based Missile Warning mission and associated technologies.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Space Systems Command, DoD and other government agency standards and practices related to missile warning systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Must possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Strongly desire 10+ years of experience in SBIRS or Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) domains and 5+ years of experience in OPIR Data Exploitation or Battlespace Awareness mission areas and 4+ years of testing, integration, and operations support on FORGE
