Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. seeks a Staff Missile Test Engineer to provide engineering support for Naval Surface Warfare Center, FG T capability, at NSWC-Indian Head, MD. Onsite requirement with possible CONUS travel.

Requirements include a BS in CS/CE/Aerospace, 5–7 years of related experience, and US citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance. Proficiency in real-time software, missile simulations, and multi-language programming is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university; 5–7 years of related experience.
• Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
• Must be able to obtain medical certification for explosives and submit to random drug testing.
• Experience with operating computer-based test systems and components, including GPS simulators and data processing/recording equipment.
• Expertise in real-time software development, missile/flight simulation, software models, and various programming interfaces.
• Familiarity with Windows and optionally Linux; RTX IntervalZero; Visual Studio; FORTRAN, C/C++, Ada, and Python.
• Engineering knowledge to write and review test plans, procedures, and reports; develop software documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide software and simulation expertise for operating and maintaining an FGT platform and support test plans, readiness reviews, and test reports.
• Conduct testing in accordance with approved SOPs and procedures.
• Support software and simulation model integration and data evaluation.
• Prepare and maintain software documentation including test plans and user manuals.
