Job summary

QTEC Aerospace in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to Missile Defense System programs. The role focuses on Java-based software development within a multi-contractor team providing engineering and technical support.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in CS/SE/Math/Physics (or related) with Java/J2EE experience, knowledge of coding standards, automated testing, and build pipelines. DoD SECRET clearance is required, with salary in a broad range reflecting experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
1 year of related experience; 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree.
Understanding of software engineering and software development with Java/J2EE experience or alternate OO development experience.
Knowledge of coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

Provides experience across multiple systems and software disciplines and works with customer areas.
Performs analysis and technical support of systems software products, including design, development, testing, and user support.
Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products.
Develops or modifies operating systems applications from specifications.
Participates in design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.
