Job summary

Brazoria County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has an opening for a misdemeanor prosecutor. The position offers a starting annual salary range of $89,444 to $97,738, depending on qualifications and experience.

Prosecutors will evaluate facts in misdemeanor cases, make charging decisions, contact victims, and work with law enforcement officers. The role shares a caseload in an assigned misdemeanor court and may occasionally try felony cases. Must be licensed to practice law in Texas.

Job description

Brazoria County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has an opening for a misdemeanor prosecutor.

Starting annual salary range, depending on qualifications & experience, is from $89,444 to $97,738.

Misdemeanor prosecutors are expected to evaluate facts in misdemeanor cases, make charging decisions, contact victims, work with law enforcement officers, make plea offers and try cases to juries. Misdemeanor prosecutors will share a caseload in an assigned misdemeanor court with another misdemeanor prosecutor. Misdemeanor prosecutors are also given the opportunity on occasion to try felony cases. Must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
