Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Miscellaneous Metals Installation Foreman to lead field crews installing stairs, railings, and other metalwork. You will supervise daily site activities, coordinate with the General Contractor, and ensure installations meet project requirements and safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years in metals and prior foreman experience, blueprints literacy, welding process knowledge (AWS D1.1, SMAW/FCAW/GMAW/GTAW), and strong leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of miscellaneous metals experience preferred.
  • Foreman or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and safety documentation.
  • Strong basic math skills, including working with angles, degrees, and standard measurements.
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1.
  • Knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes.
  • Current welder certifications or the ability to successfully pass a weld test.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and job-site problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise field crews performing miscellaneous metals installation.
  • Coordinate daily work activities with the General Contractor.
  • Review blueprints and establish proper layout for installation.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Confirm required crew certifications and enforce site safety requirements.
  • Act as the on-site safety representative and ensure proper PPE and site-specific safety procedures are followed.
  • Conduct and review Tool-Box Shop Talks and reinforce general safety practices.
  • Complete daily field and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Monitor the condition and availability of tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout installation activities.
  • Serve as the primary on-site representative for installation-related activities.

Miscellaneous Metals Installation Foreman

Location: Candidates must be located near Georgetown, DE; Sterling, VA; Baltimore, MD; or Washington, DC
Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Pay: $32.00/hour; higher pay may be available depending on experience
Benefits: Company truck and gas card provided

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Miscellaneous Metals Installation Foreman to direct field crews installing stairs, railings, and other miscellaneous metalwork. This position oversees daily site activities, coordinates with the General Contractor, and ensures installations are completed safely, accurately, and according to project requirements.
