Job summary

Actus Consulting Group seeks an IT Administrator to provide advanced technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software in our New York office.

The role focuses on diagnosing issues, maintaining networks, servers, and security, performing backups, and supporting remote locations. Qualifications include a BA/BS in Computer Science or IT, and certifications such as A+, CompTIA, or MCSA; experience with Windows OS, Office 365, and Cargowise is highly valued.

Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing technical assistance and support, related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution. Conduct corporate training sessions to enhance staff effectiveness.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Developing new network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and decrease maintenance costs.
  • Creating rational strategies for upgrading the company's network software whenever a new update is available.
  • Constructing and implementing plans to ensure the company's network continues to operate smoothly in the event of a problem.
  • Staying up to date with new network technology and reporting this information to the executive team each quarter
  • Working closely with other department Managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company's network

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES

  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
  • Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights
  • Lead remediation efforts for gaps in security and networking
  • Migrate legacy servers/applications to modern solutions
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
  • Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that's always up and running
  • Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
  • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
  • Documents internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
  • Support and administer remote locations and employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology and or related field.
  • Freight Forwarding System experience is a must and Cargowise experience is highly preferable
  • Experience in troubleshooting PC
  • Hardware, Network, and Software related issues.
  • A+ or CompTIA, Microsoft MCSA or any similar Information Technology certifications
  • Working knowledge of Windows platform and Office Suite software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and works with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Forward-thinking vision and a demonstrated interest in using IT resource to support business goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS(Not required, Will be plus)
WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. May require work in the warehouse and/or outdoors.
