Job summary

The Miami Marlins are seeking a Minor League Athletic Trainer to provide medical care, injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for Minor League players. You will work with the Director of Medical Operations and other medical staff to keep players healthy and ready to perform.

Travel with the Minor League affiliate, document care, adhere to MLB/MiLB health protocols, and contribute to education on health and injury prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• ATC certification and state licensure eligibility required.
• Experience with athletic training in baseball or high-performance sports preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services for Minor League players.
• Conduct player evaluations and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with MLB and MiLB health protocols.
• Collaborate with team physicians and medical staff to manage injuries and recovery plans.
• Assist in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs.
• Assist in the education of players on health, nutrition, and injury prevention strategies.
• Travel with the assigned Minor League affiliate and provide medical coverage for all games and activities.
• Report injury status and updates to the Assistant Director of Athletic Training/Rehab, Manager of Academy Medical, and front office personnel.

Position Summary

As a Minor League Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing medical care, injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for Minor League players. This role involves collaborating with Director of Medical Operations, Assistant Director-Minor League Medical, Manager of Academy Medical, Manager of Academy Rehab, strength and conditioning staff, and coaches to ensure the health and performance of players. Skill Requirements

• Proficiency in MLB Electronic Medical Record System (AthleteRMS)
• Strong knowledge of sports medicine, injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Experience with injury evaluation, treatment, and return-to-play protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, medical staff, and front office personnel.
• Familiarity with MLB and MiLB health and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Education & Experience Guidelines

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of employment.
• Experience in athletic training, professional or collegiate baseball preferred.
• Experience working with high-performance athletes in a structured sports environment preferred.

Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Willingness to travel extensively during the season.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
