Telecounselor Associate

New Season

We operate over 70 treatment centers across multiple states, focusing on medication-assisted treatment, counseling, support, and care management for OUD. Our approach treats the whole person, addressing underlying causes to support recovery. We are seeking a Telecounselor Associate to serve our community.

Job Summary

Telecounselors provide individual counseling via a HIPAA-compliant video platform to patients across the U.S. They work within a multidisciplinary team to identify and meet clinical needs, complete documentation, and support patient well-being. Remote work arrangements are possible, subject to policies and performance standards.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct individual counseling via synchronous video communication.
  • Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps.
  • Maintain a performance standard of 50% of hours in direct patient contact monthly.
  • Complete all required documentation timely.
  • Assist with intake, discharge, and transfer paperwork as needed.
  • Document patient progress and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Identify clinical needs and coordinate with team members.
  • Maintain communication with clinic leadership and support staff.
  • Report abuse, neglect, exploitation, and grievances as required.
  • Coordinate urine drug screens and complete documentation.
  • Ensure understanding of policies and compliance with confidentiality regulations.
  • Obtain and maintain proper licensure/certification as per state requirements.
  • Participate in surveys, inspections, staff meetings, and supervisions.
  • Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Services or related field; current Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with ability to obtain licensure within 2 years; at least 1 year counseling experience.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and telecounseling preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and technological skills; ability to multitask, work independently, and reliably.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Includes sedentary work, use of fingers for typing, communication skills, and visual acuity. Remote work requires a private workspace, ability to secure work, and occasional travel for training.

Working Conditions

  • Operate in an open work area with moderate noise.
  • Perform duties as required, including in a remote environment with appropriate workspace.

  • Communicate fluently in English; second language helpful.
