A community-focused education organization is seeking Reading Tutors to assist students in improving their reading skills. Tutors will work with students in local schools, lead sessions, and track progress. The role is available for the 2025-26 school year, offering compensation of $17.50 per hour, free health insurance, and education benefits. Part-time roles are also available. Join Reading Corps as a Reading Tutor and you’ll spend your days at a local school helping students improve their skills. We’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!
How does it work? Every school day you’ll see pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice. When your time together is up, you’ll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next pair for tutoring. You’ll repeat until all your students are served.
With the extra attention and support, incredible growth happens. As your students build their skills and confidence, you’ll be there to encourage, celebrate, and cheer them on!

Pay & Benefits
Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $17.50 per hour served and additional perks!

Reading Corps is administered by the nonprofit organization Ampact and fueled by research from Minnesota’s National Science + Service Collaborative.
