Job summary

International Friendships, Inc. (IFI) seeks a Champaign-Urbana Ministry Coordinator to develop ministry partnerships and mobilize volunteers to serve international students.

The role is part-time or full-time, with a flexible schedule and occasional evenings or weekends to meet ministry needs. The coordinator lives near the campus, partners with churches, and coordinates cultural activities, Bible discussions, mentoring, and volunteer recruitment.

• Faithful in evangelism and hospitality to international students as well as discipling believers to do the same.
• Well organized, takes initiative, able to work independently or collaboratively.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Proficient with technology necessary to the ministry, including Microsoft Office and Google applications.

• Organize cultural activities and lead Bible discussion groups.

Expected work schedule for the Champaign-Urbana Ministry Coordinator :

• Full- or part-time, flexible schedule
• Occasional evenings and/or weekends for specific ministry needs
• Annual conferences such as the IFI Staff Retreat

Pay structure for a Champaign-Urbana Ministry Coordinator :

• Requires the development of a ministry partner team to provide prayer and financial support to cover salary, benefits, and ministry expenses
• Training is provided to develop a team of ministry partners
• Pay range is typically between $27,274 and $84,872 after the period of support development, based on experience and other factors

Responsibilities of a Champaign Urbana Ministry Coordinator:

The University of Illinois has almost 13,000 international students from over 100 countries, which is the sixth largest international student population center in the country. This is an excellent university in so many ways, which draws key students from all over the world. The 2022-23 U.S. News & World Report'sAmerica's Best Colleges rankings rated U of I as the number 13 public university and the number 41 national university. This position is part of the Champaign-Urbana ministry team and requires the candidate to live near the campus on which they will be serving.

As a Champaign Urbana Ministry Coordinator, you'll be instrumental in campus ministry to international students, fostering church relations, and coordinating volunteers. Your duties include organizing cultural activities, leading Bible discussion groups, mentoring students, establishing church partnerships, and managing volunteer recruitment and activities.

• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in education and/or ministry-related field or demonstrated experience mobilizing, training, and ministering to people
• Cross-cultural ministry experience, preferred
