Job description

First Baptist Church Waycross
Waycross, Georgia | Full-Time
About First Baptist Waycross

At First Baptist Waycross, we exist to glorify God by helping our community stay on track with Jesus—growing in His Word, connecting in authentic relationships, and multiplying disciples who change the world. Our ministry philosophy is built around disciple-making rather than program management. We believe every believer is called to follow Jesus and help someone else do the same.

Our discipleship pathway—On Track Discipleship—guides every ministry of our church through four intentional environments:

  • Large Group Gatherings
  • Small Groups
  • Ally Groups
  • Personal Walk with God

We're looking for a leader who wants to invest deeply in students and parents—not simply create a busy calendar.

Position Summary

The Minister to Students provides visionary leadership for the student ministry by making disciples who make disciples.

This individual will intentionally invest in students, equip parents as the primary disciplers of their children, recruit and develop volunteer leaders, and build a culture where students know Christ, grow in biblical maturity, serve others, and make disciples themselves.

Our Core Values

Everything we do is guided by four core values.

Biblical Truth

God's Word is our authority.

We teach it faithfully.

We obey it joyfully.

Authentic Relationships

Life change happens best in biblical community.

Students need adults who know them, love them, and walk beside them.

Intentional Discipleship

Every believer is called to make disciples.

We don't simply fill seats.

We invest in people.

Missional Living

Students are missionaries in their schools, homes, teams, and communities.

We equip them to live on mission every day.

What Success Looks Like

After three to five years...

Students are reading Scripture on their own.

Students are praying consistently.

Students are discipling younger students.

Parents feel equipped.

Adult leaders are multiplying.

Students are serving throughout the church.

Baptisms are increasing.

The ministry is no longer centered around one personality.

Instead, there is a healthy culture of disciple-making that continues to reproduce itself.

What We Aren't Looking For

Someone who believes success is measured primarily by:

  • attendance
  • excitement
  • entertainment
  • social media presence
  • event size

Events matter. Relationships matter more!

Programs matter. Disciple-making matters most!
