Job summary

Winstead United Methodist Church seeks a salaried, part-time Minister of Music (approximately 10-15 hours per week). The minister will oversee and coordinate the music ministries in collaboration with the Pastor and Worship Team, and will plan worship, schedule and conduct the chancel and children’s choirs.

Responsibilities include coordinating cantatas and special music for Sunday worship and other planned services, and working with the band, handbell choir, and mini orchestra as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in church music.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Church Music, Music Education, or Music Performance.
• Proficiency in piano.

Job description

This is a salaried, part-time position, approximately 10-15 hours per week. The Minister of Music has primary responsibility for general oversight and coordination of the music ministries of Winstead United Methodist Church, working collaboratively with the Pastor and Worship Team.

This includes, but is not limited to worship planning, scheduling and conducting the chancel and children’s choirs, working alongside other music groups like the band, handbell choir, and mini orchestra, and coordinating cantatas and other special music for Sunday worship and other planned services.

• At least 5 years of experience in church music
