Job summary

Lake Mead Christian Ministries in Henderson, NV, seeks a full-time High School English Teacher to lead two 9th-grade English courses and two 10th-grade English courses, plus honors sections and prep periods. Office hours are 7:15 AM–3:15 PM, with occasional before/after school meetings.

Requires teaching credentials and LMCM alignment. Responsibilities include lesson planning, timely grading, student feedback, and parental communication; collaboration with the High School department head and use

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; MA preferred.
• Experience in the classroom.
• ACSI certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Writes weekly lesson plans.
• Grades materials in a timely manner and enters them into FACTS.
• Provides students with regular feedback.
• Communicates student successes, challenges, and behaviors to parents.
• Follows school policies in the classroom.
• Collaborates with department head to schedule curriculum for the school year.
• Uses Google Classroom and FACTS.
• Possible dual enrollment approval for master's-level math teacher.
• Assigns daily work including quizzes (1–2 weekly), 3 tests or papers per quarter, and at least 2 cumulative tests per year.

Compensation

$46,350 - $50,200 based on experience and education

Job Summary

This position is responsible for teaching 2 9th Grade English Courses, 1 9th Grade Honors English Course, 2 10th Grade English Courses, 1 10th Grade Honors English Course, and 1 Prep Period. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:15 AM-3:15 PM, with the possibility of before or after school departmental meetings as needed. See course descriptions here.

• Works with a subject department head in scheduling the curriculum for the school year.

• Has the potential to gain dual enrollment approval (master's-level math teacher).
• Assigns daily work including quizzes (1 to 2 a week), 3 tests or papers per quarter, and at least 2 cumulative tests a year.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Possesses the ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check and fingerprinting.
• A valid degree (minimum of a BA or BS) from an accredited institution of higher education. MA preferred.
• Experience in the classroom
• Will be expected to get ACSI certified within 12 months of being hired.
