Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Six or more years related experience are required.
• Master’s Degree preferred but not required. Knowledge of mining or bulk material handling industries is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing is preferred but not required.
• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Advance Steel) and design software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel supports and foundations.
• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
• Develop design criteria and load calculations for structures.
• Review vendor documents for structural components.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Ensure code compliance and adherence to project specifications.

Performs structural engineering analysis and design in order to meet project and client requirements in the mining industrybyperformingthefollowingduties.

SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews designs of other structural engineers for code and design specification compliance. Uses experience to suggestinitialstructurallayoutstootherdisciplines.Mentorsstructuralengineeringinternsandotherbeginning structuralengineers.
