Job summary

Covia is seeking a dynamic Production Operator to support the Operations team at its Roff, OK site. You will ensure the safe and productive operation of mine and plant process equipment, including pumps, cyclones, conveyors, thickeners, and loadout systems, while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

The role requires English literacy, a high school diploma, and experience in mining operations or safety-focused roles.

Qualifications

• Literacy in English, both written and spoken required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in pumps, computer systems, conveyors, or similar preferred.
• Previous experience within mining operations (preferably sand) preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks preferred.
• Ability to operate computer programs preferred.
• This job position includes safety-sensitive job duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift and routine equipment and area inspections; maintain safe work environments in the Mine, Wet Plant, Dry Plant, & Loadout areas.
• Perform systematic startup of area equipment.
• Inspect equipment to ensure operating safely within parameters.
• Ensure sand flows from the mine, through the wet process, dry process, & final product loadout.
• Collect and process samples, record results, and change operating parameters as required.
• Check and maintain communications with appropriate departments.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.
• Ensure Process equipment is properly shut down at end of shift if required, area is inspected, and any issues reported to Management.
• Operate Heavy Equipment such as skid steers, front end loader, etc.
