Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Mill Operator to oversee milling and crushing operations in a mining environment. You will ensure safe operation of feeders, crushers, conveyors, grinding mills, flotation cells, and other equipment while monitoring production data and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities include performing samples, adjusting reagents, and coordinating with the Mill Supervisor to maintain efficient processes. Prior process-plant experience and a strong safety record are preferred.

• Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when applicable.
• Ability to participate in emergency response and evacuation procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50+ pounds occasionally.
• One year of experience in a process plant (preferred).
• Previous experience with flotation and gravity concentration (preferred).
• Preference given to Alaska residents.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Mill Supervisor.
• Operate and oversee milling and crushing processes.
• Stop work for safety concerns and follow safety best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Safely operate feeders, crushers, conveyors, grinding mills, flotation cells, pumps, slurry flows, sampling equipment, reagents, thickeners, and tools.
• Operate crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, and filtration circuits.
• Perform flocculent and reagent mixing and addition.
• Operate mobile equipment including loaders, excavators, rock breakers, skid steer loaders, forklifts, and extended boom forklifts.
• Monitor mill production equipment for safe and efficient operations.
• Record operational and production data.
• Transfer materials, supplies, and products using mobile equipment, overhead cranes, and hand tools.
• Clean up spills and maintain machinery, equipment, materials, and products.
• Comply with company, state, and federal environmental, safety, and other standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
