Job summary

Eagle Mine in Champion Township, Michigan, seeks an Engineering professional to provide mechanical engineering support to improve equipment reliability at the Mine and Mill site.

The role collaborates with maintenance and operations, develops work scopes, and manages mechanical contractors and capital projects, performing calculations and creating detailed drawings. Experience in heavy industry and AutoCAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Civil Engineering required. Advanced degrees preferred.
• 3-5 years in heavy industrial mechanical experience preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or other mechanical drafting software required.
• Mining experience preferred.
• Demonstrated Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with maintenance and operations to resolve equipment issues
• Develop work scopes and manage mechanical contractors
• Provide project management for all mechanical maintenance and capital projects
• Perform mechanical calculations and design for new and existing equipment
• Provide detailed mechanical drawings
• Approve mechanical and civil engineering prints
• Specify mechanical parts for process equipment
• Troubleshoot Mechanical equipment issues
• Design piping specifications
• Update document control (SharePoint) as systems are changed
• Perform other duties as assigned
