Job summary

Careermine in Pennsylvania is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Engineer/Technician to aid in maintaining underground and surface mining equipment and facilities, ensuring high availability and adherence to safety standards.

This role provides electrical and mechanical support, including PLCs, vibration and temperature monitoring, and ongoing preventive maintenance to develop skills while contributing to continuous improvement across the mine.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED and a 2-year technical degree or military training.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires.
• Ability to lift and work safely both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of underground and surface mining equipment and facilities to maintain high availability.
• Support installation and maintenance of conveyor belt drives, tracking and communication systems, power distribution, and troubleshooting.
• Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to improve the maintenance department, including PLCs and monitoring systems.
• Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs and continuous improvement.
• Utilize Oracle procurement for ordering parts and materials as needed.
• Work across equipment types (miners, shuttle cars, roof bolters, conveyors, fans, hoists, etc.).
