Job summary

Mader Group is seeking a field-based HV technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair high-voltage systems on heavy mining equipment. You will troubleshoot in-pit and remote sites, perform preventive maintenance on surface and underground OEM fleets, and service electric haul trucks and support equipment.

You should have 3+ years HV experience, strong Sandvik familiarity, and be able to FIFO on 2/1, 2/2 or 7/7 rotations across the U.S.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of high-voltage experience on mining equipment (UG or surface).
• Strong Sandvik equipment experience (jumbos, bolters, trucks) preferred.
• Ability to work FIFO across the U.S. on 2/1, 2/2, or 7/7 rotations.
• Solid troubleshooting and diagnostics under high pressure.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to pass background check and pre-employment requirements.
• Experience with automation or autonomous mining equipment preferred.
• Exposure to large-scale mining projects or commissioning work preferred.
• MSHA Electrical Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair high-voltage systems on heavy mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot and respond to electrical breakdowns in the field and in-pit.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on OEM equipment (surface & underground).
• Service and repair electric haul trucks and support equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair transformers, switchgear, motors, and HV cabling.
• Conduct 24V and HV diagnostics, testing, and component replacement.
• Use testing tools like multimeters, insulation testers, and earth testers.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuits.
• Work across major OEMs including Sandvik, CAT, Epiroc, Hitachi, Komatsu.
• Support operations by reducing downtime and keeping machines moving.
• Apply strong electrical safety standards (LOTO, arc flash, PPE).
