Job summary

Oil-Dri Corporation of America in Taft, CA, is seeking a Mine Equipment Operator to join a 3-person crew. You will rotate between mining and operating milling processes, supporting the prep for hauling to the processing plant.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to work across shifts with strong communication and English literacy. PPE is required on the production floor and safety training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months experience operating mining equipment (loaders, haul trucks, excavators).
• Read and write in English and follow directions.
• Proficient on a computer and able to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and basic mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Complete process quality specs as mandated.
• Occasionally operate milling and screening processes and assist in maintaining elevators, baghouses and screens.
• Occasionally operate milling when not mining.
• Monitor waterflow throughout the plant and record data as necessary.
• Perform lockout/tagout and confined space entry; troubleshoot milling area issues.
• Run samples on product to maintain quality and understand specifications.
• Operate front-end loader, HM400 haul truck, graders, excavators, water trucks and tractors.
• Work across shifts, cover vacation days, and perform other duties as assigned.
