WSP USA is seeking a Mining Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 for our Lakewood, CO office, with consideration for St. Louis, MO and Tucson, AZ. This 12-week internship begins May 17, 2027, for students enrolled in Undergraduate or Graduate degree programs.

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Mining Engineering or related undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Demonstrated interest in Mining Engineering or related field.
  • Interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Capable of taking direction from leadership and mentors.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and tools.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at internship start date.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
  • Learn basic principles of Mining Engineering.
  • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
  • Assist in desktop studies on geology, mine stability, excavation and minerals processing.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports on resources and reserves for NI-43-101/JORC.
  • Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making and adhere to policies.
  • Occasional travel may be required; no relocation/housing assistance provided.

Our Earth & Environment Team is seekinga full-timeMining Engineering Intern - Summer 2027to work out ofourLakewood, CO office. The following locations will also be considered: St. Louis, MOand Tucson, AZ. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate orGraduate degree program.

This 12-week internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program that is scheduled to start on May 17, 2027. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.

Your Impact
  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
  • Learn basic principles of Mining Engineering.
  • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
  • Assist in desktop studies on geology, mine stability, excavation and minerals processing.
  • Assist in technical reporting on client resources and reserves for SK-1300 / NI-43-101 / JORC requirements.
  • Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere toWSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
  • Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Mining Engineering or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Demonstrated interest in Mining Engineering, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively andprofessionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
  • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol andharassment policies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Mining Engineering or related, Masters Degree or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
  • Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
  • Experience in materials testing.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $22.17 - $29.96

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately paymore or less than the posted range and offeradditionalbenefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $23.90- $31.11
