Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is offering a summer internship for students pursuing Mining Engineering or Geology. The role combines field assignments with office support to learn quarry and aggregate site operations.

Interns will engage with engineers and production staff, contribute to technical projects, and gain exposure to safety, health, and environmental regulations while supporting production goals.

Qualifications

• Current sophomores, juniors and seniors working toward a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology.
• Commitment and engagement through a high level of work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Put your education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work.
• Support the plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments.
• Complete technical projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a quarry or aggregate site.
• Learn the mission of the production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job and functions.
• Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
