Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Mine Engineer for an on-site role in Maryland to support mine planning and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with a team to optimize operations, assist with drill and blasting support, and contribute to special projects as they arise.

The role involves ensuring safety, health, and environmental policies are followed while maintaining accurate documentation and coordinating with management to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Mining field of study preferred.
• 0–3 years of work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Surveying and mapping of surface mine advance and related features.
• Short and mid-term mine planning with Geologic Services.
• Tracking of mining royalties and regulatory documentation (MSHA/ATF).
• Ensuring ground support is implemented and compliant.
• Assist in managing crew and project design/cost analyses for special projects.
• Monitor mining conditions for continuous improvement and safety training.

Job description

The Mine Engineer is an on-site engineering support role. The Mine Engineer assists mine management in ensuring that operations are run in a safe manner, in compliance with all governmental requirements, and in the most efficient and effective way possible. The Mine Engineer is generally responsible for mine planning, support in drill and blasting, and special projects as they arise, and federal and state regulatory documentation. The Mine Engineer may collaborate with a team of engineers to help optimize other local mining operations.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Surveying and mapping of surface mine advance and all appropriate mine features
• Short and mid-term mine planning in conjunction with the Geologic Services team
• Tracking of mining royalties
• Updating required MSHA and ATF documentation
• Ensuring appropriate ground support is implemented
• Assisting in managing the crew, as required
• Completing design work and cost analyses for special projects, as required
• Observing and tracking mining conditions and practices for continuous improvement
• Assisting with safety training and recordkeeping
• Assisting with green fielding and other new site development
• Providing technical assistance for mine management, as required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Field of Study Preferred: Mining

Required Work Experience: 0-3 years

Required Technical Skills: Good computer skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel

Travel Requirements: Minimal

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
