Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Part-time Mini Load Picking Lead to manage the day-to-day operations of the Mini Load Picking department in a fast-paced distribution center. You will supervise order picking, packing, labeling, and routing to Sortation.

The role offers up to 28 hours per week with weekend shifts, after onboarding. Ideal candidates are reliable, team-oriented, and able to lift up to 50 lbs with basic computer/WMS experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior warehouse, distribution, operations or industrial sales experience.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer operations, including WMS and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift/move 25–50 lbs, up to 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule / extra time as needed.
• Commitment to health, safety and sustainability policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train team members in the Mini Load Picking department.
• Communicate with branches and teammates to coordinate orders.
• Pick orders and pack products using automated goods-to-person systems.

OVERVIEW:

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Part-time Mini Load Picking Lead, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Mini Load Picking department. When an order is placed by a branch you will pick the requested quantity using a small parts automated goods to person system. Then, pack the order, print a label with a routing number and send the product to the next department, Sortation. You will provide guidance to ensure operations are completed correctly, efficiently and on time. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leading and training team members

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• 18 years of age or older
• Possess prior work experience in warehouse, distribution, operations or industrial sales
• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of computer operations, including oper1, WMS and Microsoft Office Applications
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience operating a forklift
