Job summary

Fastenal Company, a Fortune 500 distributor, is hiring for a part-time Mini Load Picking role at the High Point distribution center. You will pick, pack, label, and route orders using RF scanners and conveyors in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

This entry-level, on-site position offers up to 28 hours per week with potential schedule flexibility after onboarding, as performance goals are met.

Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU 10:00 pm-6:00 am

TUE WED THU FRI 8:00 am-2:00 pm and SAT 7:00 am-12:00 pm/Noon

OVERVIEW

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Part-time Mini Load Picking, you will help facilitate the movement of product from our distribution center to company owned branches. When an order is placed by a branch it is queued into the system to be picked. Product is brought on a conveyor belt directly to your work station, where you will pick the requested quantity, pack the order, print a label with a routing number and send the product to the next department, Sortation. This is an entry-level position based out of our distribution center located at 4110 Premier Dr, High Point, NC 27265. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Picking orders and packing product efficiently and accurately
• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Using a scale for weighing product
• Verifying inventory being picked matches request
• Verifying package quantities and counts
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience operating a forklift
