Job summary

San Diego BioMed in San Diego, CA invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (or Staff Scientist for exceptional candidates) to spearhead MINFLUX imaging studies of NK cell synapses. The lab integrates super-resolution imaging with immune biology and collaborates with Scripps Research and Abberior.

The role offers career development, potential for independent research, and opportunities to contribute to NIH-funded projects on Env presentation and ADCC.

Qualifications

• PhD in immunology, biophysics, cell biology or related field.
• 0–3 years postdoc; or 4+ years for Staff Scientist.
• Hands-on microscopy experience preferred.
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology.
• First-author publications and conference presentations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mammalian cell culture and isolate primary NK cells.
• Design and prepare imaging samples.
• Collect, optimize, and troubleshoot confocal, STED, MINFLUX data.
• Analyze single-molecule localization data using Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Collaborate with Scripps Microscopy Core and Abberior on MINFLUX.
• Meet with PI to interpret data and guide experiments.
• Train undergrad students and research technicians.
• Prepare figures and present at meetings.
• Lead writing of first-author manuscripts.
• Assist with grant reporting and preliminary data.
