Job Description:Forte Dynamics, a respected consulting and engineering firm specializing in mineral resource and reserve estimation, mine planning, and metallurgical services, is seeking a full-time Resource Geologist to join our team. Our projects encompass a wide spectrum, including geological modeling, statistical analysis, and resource estimation and reporting for various metals and depositional environments.Experience in Leapfrog is key, and knowledge of another mining software system is preferred. Experience in operating mines (either surface or underground) will be an added value. The ability to write in English is required and a second language, especially Spanish, is a plus. The successful candidate should be qualified as a QP/CP for Securities reporting or should have the experience to gain that qualification.Responsibilities:- Manage geological database and conduct quality control analysis.
- Perform statistical evaluation of geological data.
- Develop geological models for diverse metals and depositional environments.
- Creation of geologic drawings for technical reports.
- Estimate mineral resources for multiple commodities.
- Flexibility in supporting both engineering and geologic aspects of projects.
- Collaborate with mining engineers, metallurgists, and other professionals.
- Prepare project estimates, schedules, and reports.
- Provide client support and presentations.
- Contribute to business development efforts to expand our mining sector.
Qualifications/Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
- Advanced degree or Professional Certification (CPG, SME-RM, MMSA) is preferred.
- Certification as a Qualified Person (QP).
- 10+ years of minerals exploration, operation, and/or resource estimation.
- Proficiency in 3D Mine Modeling software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, MinePlan, Datamine, or MicroMine.
- Advanced skills in Excel or Access (or other database tools).
- Experience interacting with mining and minerals processing operations.
- Able to research and analyze complex information.
- Strong project management skills for handling large-scale projects.
- Pro-active safety attitude.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written); proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
