Job summary

Jobtailor in Alaska is seeking a Senior Mine Health and Safety Manager to lead the mine's safety program, ensuring compliance with MSHA and environmental regulations while coordinating with engineering, geology, and operations teams to foster a safe, productive workforce.

The role requires a BS in mine engineering or related field, 8+ years of supervisory experience, MSHA instructor certification, ability to obtain ATF clearance, and successful completion of pre-employment physicals and drug

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) or equivalent in mine engineering, geology, geological engineering or related field.
Eight or more years of related experience and/or training, in a supervisory capacity.
Prior supervisory experience and MSHA instructor certification required.
Ability to obtain ATF Possessor's Clearance.
Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Pass a position-specific physical demands assessment.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the mine while ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive occupational health and safety plan
Coordinating with technical services such as engineering, geology, and operations teams
Supporting the overall business strategy by playing a critical role in fostering a productive and motivated workforce
Driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards
