Job summary

NewRange Copper Nickel LLC is seeking a Mining Engineer to support mine planning, design, and scheduling for surface operations. You will work with operations, geology, environmental and project teams to develop safe, economical mine plans aligned with company objectives.

The role requires 3+ years in mine planning/design, a degree in Mining Engineering, and experience with Deswik/Whittle; PE eligibility is a plus. Expect office and site work with safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mine planning, mine design, or mining engineering within surface mining or resource development operations.
• Professional engineering designation or eligibility for registration is considered a strong asset.
• Experience with mine planning and optimization software is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure mine plans are safe, practical, and aligned with site requirements.
• Develop mine designs, plans, and scheduling models using Deswik and Whittle.
• Develop and maintain regular schedules to support operational execution and planning alignment.
• Perform pit optimization analyses to support economic extraction strategies.
• Support short-, medium-, and long-term planning activities.
• Prepare technical reports, schedules, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with consultants, OEMs, and technical specialists to support project requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce mining impacts through engineering solutions.
