Job summary

U.S. Silica Lovelock plant is seeking a skilled maintenance technician responsible for repair and preventive maintenance of load & haul equipment to meet production needs safely and efficiently.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, 5+ years of maintenance experience, and familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, powertrains, brakes and electronics. Experience in mining or manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Five plus years of maintenance experience.
• Manufacturing or Mining experience preferred.
• Expert technical and troubleshooting skills in Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Powertrain, Brakes, Electronics.

Responsibilities

• Work in a safe manner and promote safety among co-workers.
• Use and promote Stop Work Authority to prevent injury or damage.
• Comply with all safety & environmental regulations, MSHA & DOT regulations, and company policies.
• Fulfill preventative maintenance program requirements.
• Perform general maintenance and inspection of brakes, drive lines, tires, engines, fluid systems and frames on L&H equipment.
• Perform PM’s on a set preventative maintenance schedule.
• Keep records required for completion of scheduled maintenance and repairs.
• Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and all other support equipment.
• Routine troubleshooting and repairs on mobile (L&H, Plant & Mine) equipment and support equipment.
• Order parts, oil, fuel and supplies to maintain productivity.
• Interpret information from operator sourced deficiency reports for use in troubleshooting.
• Clean parts, tools and working area.
• Cutting and welding with gas and electric.
• Perform and assist with plant mobile maintenance as needed
• Fueling and lubrication of equipment.
• Operate equipment as required at the Plant, Mine, or Load & Haul.
• Assist as a mine mechanic at the Vale mine site when needed.

Ability to work with a high degree of independence and urgency.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to quality and detail required

Ability to schedule and manage time efficiently while driving results.
