Job summary

U.S. Silica is seeking a Mine Operator to run basic mining equipment under direct supervision at our Middleton, TN site. You will perform safety checks, follow mining plans, and assist in daily mining tasks while supporting a culture of safety.

The role requires high school education, the ability to work outdoors year-round, and willingness to learn equipment operation and reporting procedures. On-site work with potential for additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • High level of safety and quality.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced outdoor conditions.
  • Climb stairs and ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • CDL license is a plus but not required.
  • MSHA knowledge preferred.
  • Warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate basic mining equipment safely and efficiently per mining plans.
  • Manage ownership area and equipment (Haul Truck, Excavator, Dozer).
  • Complete required reports accurately and timely (pre-shift inspections, area examinations, operator equipment report).
  • Support and advance safety culture by reporting hazards and participating in safety tasks.
  • Train and mentor co-workers on equipment.
  • Follow environmental policies including spills, BMPs, water sampling, and low pH water treatment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
