US Aggregates, LLC is seeking a Mine Engineer Intern to support continuous improvement and capital project activities across Indiana plant locations, based primarily at the Indianapolis corporate office with travel to sites.

This role blends analytical work with hands-on operations, offering exposure to operations, safety, quality, sales and engineering teams, and a defined summer project to drive measurable efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Mining Engineering; soph/junior/senior preferred.
• 1+ years of work or internship experience in a professional, technical, or trades environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes daily operational procedures, performance metrics, and production trends to identify efficiency improvements and develop data-driven recommendations.
• Supports incident investigations by contributing to root cause analysis and tracking corrective actions.
• Collaborates with Plant Managers and the Quality Manager to review procedures and analyze production data for optimization.
• Designs and delivers a defined summer project with a final leadership presentation.
• Prepares project justifications and documentation communicating technical findings to stakeholders.
• Applies engineering skills across operations, safety, quality, sales, and engineering.
