Job summary

Morin Construction Ltd. is seeking a Heavy Duty Field Mechanic Apprentice for a full-time role at Camp Mine Site. This position includes maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, with a competitive pay range of $30 - $35 per hour based on experience.

The successful candidate will collaborate with licensed mechanics, ensuring equipment readiness and adhering to safety standards in a supportive team environment. Overtime opportunities are available, alongside potential apprenticeships.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment in a garage setting.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment and trucks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to prioritize urgent repairs.

Skills

Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced garage environment

Experience working on equipment used in construction and forestry operations

Familiarity with safety standards and compliance in a garage setting

Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation

Education

Technical courses in mechanics or related field

Tools

Welding or fabrication experience
