Job summary

The New School Counseling Services is seeking applications from students to join the Mindfulness Initiative as a part-time, paid team member. The role includes delivering 30-minute mindfulness sessions, engaging in monthly community outreach, and receiving ongoing training and supervision.

Ideal candidates are incoming psychology MA students with an interest in mindfulness and outreach, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work in a clinical/community setting.

Qualifications

• Incoming first-year Psychology MA student at The New School.
• Interest in mindfulness and community outreach.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• PhD at The New School preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet individually with clients to teach mindfulness skills.
• Participate in monthly community outreach within the New School.
• Attend weekly team supervision with a clinical therapist and the Mindfulness team directors on Wednesdays, 12pm-1pm.
• Participate in mindfulness training from 1:15pm-3:15pm on select Wednesdays prior to facilitating mindfulness sessions.
• Provide 30-minute mindfulness sessions and gain experience in clinical and community settings.
