Job summary

The Development of Mind and Emotions Lab at Texas A&M University seeks a full-time Post baccalaureate Research Assistant to join an NIAAA funded study on maternal identity, parenting, and neural correlates of risky alcohol use in mothers of toddlers.

Responsibilities include participant recruitment, training undergraduates, scheduling and staffing visits, conducting visits with families, maintaining contact for follow-up, and data coding/entry.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in psychology, human development, neuroscience or related field.
  • Ability to lift/move medium-weight objects.
  • Preferred: 1–2 years of human-subjects research experience; Spanish language fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit participants for the study in community and lab settings.
  • Recruit and train undergraduate research assistants.
  • Schedule and staff laboratory visits.
  • Conduct laboratory visits with community families.
  • Maintain contact with participants for follow-up.
  • Oversee data coding and entry and assist with data management.
  • Learn statistical analysis and scientific writing if desired.
