Job summary

MetLife Investment Management (MIM) invites an Associate to join the Private Fixed Income team in Whippany, NJ, focusing on residential whole loan opportunities. You will analyze prepayment and credit risk, run cash flow models, and help design capital structures while engaging with sellers and clients.

Hybrid role with 3 days in the office; the expected salary range is $120,000–$140,000 plus annual incentives and stock-based long-term incentives.

You will be part of a team investing across private corporate and infrastructure debt, private asset-based finance (ABF) and residential credit, taking a disciplined approach to sourcing and structuring unique high-quality private asset investments for clients. The Opportunity

The Associate will be responsible for analyzing residential whole loan opportunities from a wide of seller types including mortgage originators, hedge funds, private equity firms and broker dealers. These investments are driven by both internal and external third-party demand. The associate will evaluate residential whole loan opportunities taking into account both prepayment and credit risk as well as leveraging performance from the portfolio to validate model assumptions. Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of work experience in mortgage or ABS investments that emphasize quantitative methods and structuring
  • Undergraduate degree or higher
  • Familiarity with pricing models
  • Prior experience with a mortgage company or platform that has invested in residential mortgages
  • Experience with AI enabled tools

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
