Job summary

Matrix Service is seeking a Millwright Superintendent to supervise craft employees across a construction discipline. The role requires travel to project sites, with per diem provided per company policy.

You will plan and oversee safety procedures, material quantities, scheduling, and coordination with multiple departments to keep projects on track. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in a similar facility, a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent, and strong skills in scheduling,

Qualifications

  • 6+ years' experience in similar facility, including construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.
  • 1+ years' experience supervising craft employees.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling cost control.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise work activities. Determine method of construction, safety procedures and requirements, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documents actual hours worked.
  • Oversee all precision of rotating and static equipment.
  • Coordinate assigned work with different crafts, company departments and/or other contractors.
  • Maintain liaison with safety department, engineering, estimating and planning to ensure work complies with safety policies, drawings, specifications and schedules.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems and safety issues, as required.
  • Conduct accident investigations with safety department, as required.
  • Maintain communication with the HR Department to resolve issues of requisitioning required manpower.
  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements. Documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented.
  • Maintain liaison with other departments to ensure materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
  • Conduct field safety audits, as required and maintain an understanding of Corporate Safety Manual and requirements.

Job Summary

The Millwright Superintendent is responsible for supervising craft employees assigned to a particular construction discipline work area.

Travel Requirements: Must be willing and able to travel to assigned project site locations as required. Per diem will be provided for eligible travel assignments in accordance with company policy.

Essential Functions
  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."

  • Performs additional responsibilities, as directed.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years' experience in similar facility, including construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures; 1+ years' experience supervising craft employees.
  • 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling cost control.
  • Ability to supervise large groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
