Job summary

Sundt Inc. is seeking a Millwright Journeyman to plan, lay out and install, align and maintain mechanical equipment per plans, specs and codes. The role may require working in other trades as directed by supervision, with the ability to follow directions from a foreman or higher skilled worker.

Key responsibilities include maintaining crew relationships, delivering high‑quality, safe work, and proactively seeking improvements. Strong math skills and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of three years’ (level I) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • Must have four years’ (level II) experience.
  • Must have five years’ (level III) or six+ years’ (level Sr.) experience.

Millwright Journeyman

Job Summary

Plan, lay-out and perform all types of mechanical equipment setting, installation, alignment, and maintenance work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.

Minimum Job Requirements
  1. Must have a minimum of three years’ (level I), four years’ (level II), five years’ (level III) and six plus years’ (level Sr.) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of the millwright trade.
  2. Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
  3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  1. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  2. Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  3. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
  4. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  6. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  7. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  9. Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
  10. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
