Job summary

York Building Products is seeking a hands-on Millwright to help keep our plant running smoothly and to build a career with growth potential. You’ll work with heavy‑duty equipment, troubleshoot issues, perform maintenance, and contribute to safety and efficiency on the line.

This role emphasizes real hands-on leadership, exposure to plant operations, and opportunities to move into management. Expect night shifts, overtime, and weekend work as needed, with a stable, family‑owned company behind you.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy‑duty plant equipment including dryers, conveyors, and bucket elevators.
• Troubleshoot issues before they escalate to avoid downtime.
• Perform inspections, repairs, and adjustments to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Run quality checks to ensure products meet top standards.
• Help improve plant performance, safety, and efficiency.
• Track production and maintenance KPIs and coordinate parts as needed.
• Assist with repairs, cleanup, and keeping operations moving smoothly.
• Jump in wherever needed to support teamwork.

What You’ll Be Doing

Think of yourself as part mechanic, part operator, part problem-solver, and part future leader.

On Any Given Shift, You Might:

• Operate fluidized bed dryers, conveyors, bucket elevators, and other heavy‑duty plant equipment
• Troubleshoot issues before they become bigger problems
• Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and adjustments
• Run quality control tests to make sure products meet top standards
• Help improve plant performance, safety, and efficiency
• Track production and maintenance KPIs
• Coordinate tools, parts, and equipment needs
• Assist with repairs, cleanup, and keeping operations running strong
• Jump in wherever needed — because teamwork matters here

• Willingness to work night shift, overtime, and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically active environments
• Comfort working indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and industrial conditions
