Millwright / Mechanical Technician – Industrial Water Treatment Project. Location: Spring Hill, FL. Great overtime potential to help keep the project on schedule. Project Duration: Long term project. Pay Rate: Competitive based on experience. Shift: Daylight 6:30am to 6:30pm and Night 6:30pm to 6:30am – 12hr shifts. Schedule: Monday–Saturday – will require working 60+ hrs each week.
Position Overview
The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems throughout the facility. This individual will act as a maintenance lead, supporting preventative maintenance planning, coordinating subcontractor work, and ensuring the overall reliability and upkeep of plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and replace valves, piping components, and related mechanical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance in accordance with equipment manufacturer schedules.
- Lubricate rotating equipment including pumps, motors, and blowers.
- Perform pump alignment and bearing and seal replacement.
- Identify and arrest leaks throughout mechanical systems.
- Repair and maintain chemical dosing pumps.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractor activities as required.
- Lead preventative maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Support the overall upkeep and mechanical reliability of the facility.
- Prepare reports documenting maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Advise on spare parts requirements, maintenance planning, and inventory control.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas through proper housekeeping.
- Follow all safety policies and site‑specific requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3–5 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with water treatment systems including pumps, motors, blowers, valves, and piping.
- Ability to read and follow written, oral, and diagram‑based instructions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.
- High attention to detail with a team‑oriented approach.
Education and Experience
- Two‑year technical school degree preferred, but equivalent hands‑on experience will be considered.
- Prior experience working in industrial water treatment facilities strongly preferred.
- Experience with pretreatment, demineralization, reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, EDI, thermal desalination, or zero‑liquid discharge systems is a plus.
