Gerdau is seeking a Millwright / Maintenance Technician in Louisiana, responsible for performing mechanical and hydraulic repairs, ensuring equipment is maintained, and managing safety precautions. This role includes inspecting and repairing mill equipment, maintaining pipelines, and operating machinery. Candidates should have experience and must complete required training for the position, emphasizing safety and efficiency.
The technician works with minimal supervision and directs others when necessary.

Applicant/incumbent must complete or have completed the required training described for new or existing employees for this position under the GBS (Gerdau Busine ss System). Hazardous waste training and specific equipment operation training (if needed) will be covered annually.
Drill press, power saw, chain pull, burning equipment, portable drill and grinder, miscellaneous stores materials, hand tolls, measuring devices, packing tools, safety equipment, pipe machine, etc.
Plant mechanical equipment, repair parts, lubricants, hardware, packing, miscellaneous stores materials, pipe, hydraulic fluid, valves, regulators, pumps, cylinders, etc.
Supervisor (performs work with minimum of direction).
Works alone or directs other work persons as required.
