Job summary

Hunter Contracting Co. is seeking dependable laborers to support millwright and demolition tasks at Water Treatment / Wastewater Treatment facilities in Arizona. You will assist in assembling machinery, piping, and related demolition under supervision, with attention to safety and quality.

We value hard work, reliability, and teamwork. Entry-level candidates with a HS diploma or GED and up to 2 years in a related field are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years in related field preferred (Water/Wastewater a plus).

Responsibilities

• Digs ditches or trenches and backfills excavations to specifications.
• Aligns pipes and machinery under supervision of Millwright Foreman.
• Demolishes concrete wall systems using air-powered tools and hand tools.
• Assists in installing piping, rail systems and filter material.
• Measures and marks openings to lay out work using tape measures.

Job Purpose:

Under general supervision, assists Millwright, Millwright Foreman and/or Superintendent to assemble various types of machinery and piping as well as perform demolition duties in a WTP/WWTP environment.

Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities:

• Digs ditches or trenches, backfills excavations, and compacts and levels earth to specifications.
• Aligns and positions pipes and machinery under the direction of Millwright Foreman.
• Does demolition to remove concrete wall systems using air powered demo equipment such as jackhammers, chipping hammers, etc. Also uses small hand tools such as drills, rotary hammers, torque wrenches, air powered impact wrenches and mechanical tools.
• Assists in installation of all new hardware including piping, rail systems and cloth filter material.
• Measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where work is to be performed. Must be adept at using tape measures and able to comprehend site layout plans.
• Applies caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns.
• Adheres to all Hunter Contracting Co. safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

• Entry level position. High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years in a related field with familiarity with Water/Wastewater Treatment facilities preferred.
